In a world of industry events leading with and centered around technology trends, Hexagon AB is usually a refreshing exception that leads with business impact. This year’s HxGN Live Global in Las Vegas was no different. Right from Day-1, Hexagon’s President and CEO Paolo Guglielmini led from the front with an earnest keynote that touched on optimism, and a three-pronged strategy on human-centric innovation, collaborative community through openness and partnerships, and technology that is not 20 years away, but that can have practical applications in the near future. In the CTO keynote that followed, Burkhard Boeckem stressed the need to bring the simplicity of personal lives to the professional world. Some of the new updates we heard here: ▶Continued innovation in their market-leading measurement, scanning, and inspection devices, ▶Nexus: Introduction of Nexus for Developers, an open platform to build apps and workflows with open APIs, and a Nexus whiteboard application that is built on the Microsoft Teams platform ▶Introduction of HxDR, a digital reality platform that partners with NVIDIA Omniverse platform to provide geospatial models of digital twins ETQ, the recent acquisition, continues to evolve and grow under the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence suite. The new ETQ CEO Vick Viren Vaishnavi highlighted the focus on 3A’s: Automation, Analytics, and AI to become a trusted partner for the quality organization. There was also a unanimous focus throughout the event on sustainability through Hexagon's sustainability arm R-evolution, and ETQ's mission to support energy monitoring and carbon reduction initiatives. On the whole, it was a very informative event, keeping Bob Francis and me busy for a good part of the week. To summarize, Hexagon has a solid presence in the metrology, design, and inspection space with continued innovation, which along with recent acquisitions and partnerships makes it well-positioned to deliver on its promises. It will be interesting to see how all these parts come together to form a cohesive solution over the next few years. More coverage on this to follow in the LNS Research blog. Thanks to Robin Wolstenholme, Stacey Wiebe, and Fiona for inviting us and for the hospitality. #hxgnliveglobal #industrialtransformation #ai #sustainability
