With a three-person QA team, Intertek's pharmaceutical and chemical division was looking for a way to centralize its quality management processes. Its previous process — a mix of paper, aging electronic systems, and spreadsheets — was labor-intensive, time-consuming, and highly risky. Multiple individuals were trying to manage processes, and there was no clear way to link processes that belonged together, like a deviation that required corrective action.
